revolutions of all kinds

Monday, November 10th, 2003

I saw Matrix Revolutions on opening night in IMAX. It was sick. The action scenes were great, the Zion battle was epic and beautifully choreographed, and the ending was good. I’m not going to spoil it, but I’m glad they didn’t do a perfect happy Hollywood ending. Good job, fellas. Hey Gees, if you’re gonna go see this movie, see it in IMAX. It was way better in ridiculous surround sound and on a 2-story screen. It is the only way to see a big, crazy action movie. I don’t wanna write too much about the movie because I don’t want to spoil the surprises for anyone that hasn’t seen it. Did anyone notice the Tasty Wheat billboard outside the train in the beginning? That was a great throwback to the first movie. I strongly recommend watching the first two before and/or after the third. I noticed little things that were like ‘whoa cool!’. Like that.
I have always liked thrift/vintage clothing and what not. It’s just fun to have one-of-a-kind random gear that no one else has, especially when it cost me like 3 bucks. I’m just totally not down with expensive labels and stuff like that. Oh, your jacket is Armani and cost $300? I got mine in a thrift store… it was Navy issue originally and cost 2 dollars. That’s right. I’m in a class called ‘The Business Idea’ where each group has to think of a business plan and then work out all the details. Our group is doing a vintage clothing store called Worn Again Clothing. We rock… tomorrow is our presentation to the class. I’m psyched. I’m wearing black jeans, black tanktop, black button-up shirt, my new Ninja mesh hat and Tigger tie. It’s gonna be sweet. I got my new hat at Vintage Studio 82. I ordered it a few days ago and it came today. Rock! It was really cheap and I called the dude who sold it to me today to thank him. His name is Andrew, he’s 19, lives in northern Indiana. Really cool guy, with a hotter than hot girlfriend! He is coming to Chicago in a few weeks with his girl, he might just bring one of her friends for me to meet. Everyone go over to vs82 and buy everything you can. They deserve it and their products are dope.
I’ve been hanging out with this girl Meg a bunch recently. Tall pretty black girl from the other dorm (Centennial Towers). I like her a lot… she is silly and fun, definitely my type. She has really pretty eyes… we’re still getting to know each other but I really do like her. Yay for Meg. =D
Oh yeah. Family Guy is hilarious. Go buy the DVDs… they are well worth it.

I hate to have to dis yet another Matrix sequel, but this one ran more like a chick flick than an action movie. Yeah, the ending was somewhat non-Hollywood, but all the cheesy "I love you" scenes were too much to stomach. The whole series lost credibility as soon as they introduced the Trinity-Neo love story late in the 1st movie.

P.S. I bet the Rev would have loved all the references to Christ, though. ;)
