Ahhh… finally! Ok, for all of you who had no idea what was going on for the past few weeks, the host I was on disappeared and left me stranded for a few days with no site. All my files were still on their parent company’s server, so I bought a month of hosting from them so I could move to a more suitable host and I have finally got that done. I never posted about spring break, because I took around 300 pictures and it took a while to sort through, crop, resize, and caption all of them. I admit I haven’t been working on them 24.7 for weeks, but people don’t realize just how much time and effort go into my posts – that’s why I hate it when people only like my site for when I’m live on my webcam. So, here goes the little story of spring break.
A day or two before my (and many other people’s) flights and rides home for spring break, Denver had a snowstorm. This was not just any snowstorm – we haven’t seen snow like this for 90 years or something crazy like that. It snowed and snowed and snowed, and we ended up getting 4 freaking FEET of it. Needless to say, this messed up almost everyone’s flights and vacation plans. As much as I was bummed out because I had to stay here for an extra two days, the crew and I made the best of it. The first day we had a good ol’ fashioned snowbrawl. It was a combination snowball fight/no holds barred steel cage wrestling match. I didn’t feel like getting a beatdown from my boys, so I mostly stayed on the side and took pictures. That was pretty crazy and a lot of fun. The snow was so high that no one could go anywhere; everything was closed, the roads were a mess, and then? They CLOSED the airport. That’s right, folks – closed. Not like the flights were delayed, or lot of them were cancelled, no. The whole airport SHUT DOWN like a Windows NT box with a Trojan horse. So we were stuck for a second day. That next day was exponentially better than the first. Wanna know why?
Parking structure sports. We dug a path out two the two-story parking structure and, you guessed it, dove off into the snow. It was awesome to say the least. We first all jumped off the ground level, but it was just a matter of time until we marched up the stairs and jumped off the top one. I gave Matty my camera to try to get a few of me diving off the top, but he isn’t the best photographer and since I’ve got such insane hops, he only got my bottom half. Whatever… it was really fun. Britt and Eric made a ramp a few feet away from the parking garage, and both of them got some air, but then this random kid comes up and hits the ramp by jumping off the upper level of the structure… it was sick. After we did that, Matty and I teamed up against V and Lindsey in a snowbrawl, and we, needless to say, kicked their asses all over the place. Lindsey has horrible aim and nailed V in the face with snowballs about…. a bazillion times. So that was a great day.
The next day, I got a ride with a few kids to the airport early in the morning so I could try to get on a flight home. My mom is a travel agent, so I was talking to her on my cell phone every hour or so giving her updates and she would tell me how she had gotten me on like 6 different flights which was very comforting because when I got to the airport at noon, it was chaos. I live in Chicago, and we have one of the top 3 busiest airports in the world (O’Hare represent!), and I have never seen an airport as busy as I did that day. I got to the airport at noon, and I was waiting in the ridiculous “grand-opening-of-the-brand-new-rollercoaster”-esque line, and it was 2:45 when I finally got to the makeshift ticket booth that they had set up. I was psyched to finally get through the line (I wasn’t even sure if I had been in the right line because I couldn’t see the front of it until about 20 minutes before I got to the counter), and then hit security. Security was very smooth, and the line went by really fast… I was relieved because I needed to get on a 3:20 flight. So I got to the airport at noon, and made my 3:20 flight by about 5 minutes. The weird thing is, my plane was half empty. I think it’s because so many people couldn’t get to the airport or had just given up on traveling for those few days. Whatever, I was glad to fly home, despite the inconvenience. I had a whole row to myself, so I had enough space to stretch out and watch a movie, and take a few really cool pictures.
At home, I worked for all the weekdays (Friday, Monday, and Tuesday), and I babysat for Reilly and Keegan on Saturday nite. I got to chill with my boys Josh(we got pulled over but the cop let us go, Josh insists that it was because they’re both bald) and Kent which was sweet, but none of my other friends were home which sucked. I really miss Ed and Colin the most… I haven’t seen them for a while, and Ed might not be coming home for summer… he was gonna try to intern for Ted Kennedy or something (refilling his flask with Everclear and other odd jobs). Good luck with that, buddy =p. I can’t wait for this summer – Colin and I are gonna go on so many adventures and stuff… I love that kid. He’s as crazy as I am. But I’m getting off the topic. While I was home I worked at Brandtrust in the city as I did before, and I took about a million city pictures and a few panoramas, many of which I have yet to label and stitch together and stuff.
Wow, that post was ridiculous. I’m glad I finally got all of it down. I’ll post sometime next week – I was supposed to go to Notre Dame this Thursday til Sunday to see Good Charlotte and New Found Glory with Less Than Jake with Dan, but he has a track meet so I’m not going. I was SO pissed when he told me, and he feels horrible about it, and says he’s gonna make it up to me even better than what it was gonna be. We’ll see…

One time, Nick called himself "Nicky Mick." I laughed at him.
