There really aren’t very many good underage clubs in Chicago. There are tons of great 21+ clubs, I mean, Chicago has got it goin’ on in the nightlife scene, but I don’t have a fake ID so I can’t partake in tha partay. My partner in crime Colin and I went to the one underage club relatively close to my house once, and it was pretty lame. Fake kids dancing poorly to bad pop techno. Eeeew.
On the other hand, Denver has a very happening underage club scene. If you’ve been reading The Adventures of Peet via g27 for a while, you’ll know that last year I shook my groove thang many times last year. I hadn’t gone clubbing since, wow, a while, I don’t know how long it has been. Last night I went to Bash with my dormmates Tom, Ben, Katie, and Carolynn. We got there sort of early, so there were very few people dancing when we arrived. I immediately jumped out into the middle of the floor and got my groove on. Ben is a raver, and we were at a hiphop club, so he asked me to show him a few moves, how to pop n’ lock and what not. I gave him a few tips, thought of a few moves for his personal style, and he picked up on it pretty quick. Once a bunch of people got there, this group of suh-mokin’ Asian girls came in and got up on the mini-stages and started shaking it and droppin’ it like its hot. Whoooo. Gooooood times, Gees. After a while I broke away from the kids I came with and jumped in the middle of a circle of black guys. I busted my stuff and they went OFF. I started dancing and their reaction was a lot like this: “Ohhhh!!! Go white boy! Go white boy! It’s Justin Timberlake! Yeah dog! You’re part of our crew now!” I was cracking up, dancing circles around them all. The 6 of us made a big line and started doing moves in unison, everyone was watching us. SO fun! Then my friend Brittany(a super cute RA friend of mine) showed up with her best friend Jenny. I remember seeing them at clubs last year, and seeing them both on campus. Jenny is a southern girl with the cutest accent and stunning eyes. What a cutie. Anyway, the three of us danced together most of the night, and I protected them from all the dirty guys trying to get with them. They were both a little tipsy, not trashed, but I had to drive them home. We all had a great time, and I hope to go clubbing with them a lot this year. Fun girls.
All of the freshman get here on Monday, I’m kinda psyched. I wanna meet everyone, but I also like having the whole damn campus to myself. It is really weird to have so few people here. For the last two weeks, it has been just me and the RAs. I can blast my music in my room, sing at all times of the night, never have to wait for the elevator… it has been fun. But it will be great to have lots of new kiddies running around here.
I’ve become friends with this RA named Paige. She is painfully cute with the sweetest smile, man, just thinking about her puts a huge smile on my face. I was sitting at lunch in the dining hall and sometime was trying to get past me behind my chair and I was like “Yeah its cool, just squinch by me..” and Paige is walking by and overhears me say that and like jumps over to me and goes “Oh my god, squinch is like the best word ever!” It was adorable. She and I have been talking a lil bit recently. She’s a sweetie, and she’s from Chicago! When she told me that, I told her I was from there too, and for the next few seconds I don’t even know what I said to her, but we were just sort of looking into each other’s eyes and smiling, it was such a weird feeling… my mind kind of went blank and I just was staring and I had this huge smile on my face, and so did she. Damn. As many of you know, I don’t necessarily believe in the same God as most people, but I’d like to thank whatever/whoever is responsible for creating girls that are capable of giving me (and other guys I suppose) sensations like that. I better go work on my computer lab bulletin boards. I’ll try to add some new pictures soon.
