Last week I flew to New Jersey to visit my boy Danno in Basking Ridge (along with the whole Bad Boy Club of which I am a member). It had been a whole year since I visited and I was psyched to go back. I hadn’t seen my sister in New York since she moved there, so I just combined the two trips into one.
I had a freakin’ blast in Jersey, as always. Dan and I went to the grocery store in costumes – he was a security guard and I was a janitor. It was *hilarious* – I kept asking people “where the spill was” and Dan kept telling them to stay outta trouble and carry on. Good times. We chilled at Kev’s wednesday nite, but overall it was a somewhat uneventful day. Thursday was a very different story…
We went into New York City because Dan has an improv class, so Kevin and I just stormed the city for a few hours. We went to the MTV building to go visit Tiffie from frackgirl.com, but the girl at the desk couldn’t let us up because she is only an intern and wasn’t on the list. We were bummed about that, but we rocked out a bit in the big Toys R Us across the street, and then went to see Conan O’Brien. It was *sweet*. Dan’s dad has connections in TV so we got tickets no problem, VIP section. The show was funny as hell, we got on TV, and afterwards… we met Brittany Murphy! She was a guest on the show, and was walking through the NBC lobby as everyone was leaving. Tons of people were all crowding around and trying to get a glimpse or picture of her, but Kev and I were like “Screw that, let’s just go talk to her”, so we got next to her and Kevin said “I thought she was best in Clueless…” and she looked at us and smirked. We were like “What? We totally meant that.” and we threw our arms around her and took a picture with her. We talked to her for a minute after that and then got outta there. Was a nice chick! Really cute and seemed like a bit of a spaz, but very sweet.
So we were walking through Times Square after the show to go meet Dan and some girls for dinner, and who do I BUMP INTO? Tiffie! Of all the places in the entire city of New York, of all the sidewalks in Times Square, we bumped shoulders. We both stopped dead in our tracks and were nearly speechless. It was so weird, we both couldn’t stop smiling. We both had to run, but Kevvy took a picture of us. How freaking hot is Tiff? Good lord. What a day. To all of you who saw me on Conan, thanks for watching! It was cool to get IMs and stuff saying “Dude, I just freakin’ saw you in your Mr Bubbles shirt on TV!!”. You can also see John Cho (from Harold and Kumar) give me the punk rock as his interview was ending, and I yelled “babies” during Louis CK and he goes “Yeah, babies are good, some of em..”. What a crazy day. We stayed up til 4am watching G.U.T.S. on Nickelodeon, that was freaking awesome.
Friday we had a mission to mess with Linda, Dan’s ex girlfriend. Last time I was in town, they had a big fight and she was really dramatic and silly about everything. I hadn’t seen her for a while so I went up to her door in my new Dollar Store shades sipping a Stewart’s Orange Cream Soda (everyone should try one, they’re deeelicious) and she answered the door and I sipped it and said “Don’t be so dramatic. I’m outta here.” and as I walked away she realized who I was and FREAKED OUT and jumped on my back to hug me. I was like “What did I just say?!” and she relaxed. After I talked to her for a few minutes, Dan jumped out from behind a tree – I had convined Linda that I walked to her house from Dan’s. She’s really smart but really gullible. Priceless.
That night, Fwank the Tank had a big party that was really fun. Chilled with a lot of cool people there, including Vitamin K, Nikki(Hey Nick! I promised that foxy lady a shoutout), and the tennis pros. A ton of people were there, like everyone from NJ I had ever heard of… even Monica Tesi! I ding-dong-ditched her neighbors! Awesome! Dan lost a bet against the tennis pro girls, so he had to drink at the party. He got somewhat drunk so I had to drive home, so we went to the diner at around 3am with Nikki, Susan, and Julie. Lots of fun.
Saturday I took a train to NYC to visit my sister. We walked all around the city, and in Chinatown we went to some crazy markets and found Koala Yummies!! That was crazy… New York is HUGE! I couldn’t believe how many people are all over the place. We went out to dinner with her friends – a very colorful cast of characters. That was a blast, and on Sunday we went through Central Park. I have no idea how big it was and how much goes on in it. Crazy. We had a really good time, I’m glad she loves NYC so much. I’m gonna write more on our time in NYC, I was rushed to put this up because my webhost messed up my PHP gd library. Booo.
