Our dining hall is pretty good. We’ve got a really nice grill area where my crew and I frequently go for burgers, chicken, and the like. There is also a little area where the food changes every day. Some days it’s deeelICIOUS brisket(I’ve actually asked my mom to make this for me the first day I go home for spring break March 19th), and some days it’s disgusting tofu stir fry. We’ve also got some decent pizza and a salad bar, and of course, Mountain Dew on tap. Usually the desert table is filled with overcooked cookies that kinda suck. A few days ago, there was this bowl full of oreo…. something. I don’t know exactly what it was, it was like oreo bits mixed with whipped cream or something, I’m not sure. But LOOK AT IT! It was one of the yummiest things I’ve had here. I had to fill a to-go box with it and eat it over the next few days (don’t worry, my room has a fridge). Damn, I should update that picture, because my wall has a lot more cool crap on it, and xmas lights and stuff. I’ll wait to update it because next quarter I might either have a single or Britt might move in here. Eric’s roommate John is moving outta here, so my roommate Googs might move in with him, so Britt will either move in here or I’ll have the whole damn room to myself! As the song that I’m listening to right now (Atliens) would say, “Everybody lemme hear ya say o-yay-er..” So that’ll rock.
Oh man, last week I went to Safeway to restock my fridge with various store-brand sodas with such clever titles as “Mountain Breeze”, and my favorite marketing powerhouse, “Punch”. I stupidly bought 3 12 cases because of the amazing take-advantage-of-poor-college-kids price, 2 for $4. I mean, come on… that’s a sweet price. 36 cans of mediocre soda for $6? Pretty slick. Anyway, I also bought some store brand reeses peanut butter cups and some actual Ritz cheese mini-sandwich crackers. I had to walk about 6 long blocks with all of this crap. It was nice outside, and I wore my leather jacket. “Oh, Peet, a leather jacket? I thought you said you were a poor college student!” Watch it, sucka. I bought my leather jacket at the thrift store for $10 and it has little white paint speckles all over it. Anyway, I had to carry my two bags on the underside of my forearms to leave my hands open for the remaining 12 pack. That crap put to damn much pressure on my arms, when I finally put all the stuff down in my dorm room, my arms and hands were shaking. I guess I was pinching nerves or something. It was so weird – I couldn’t even type or anything. That sucked.
Friday(yesterday), Brizzy and I went to Breckenridge sans Dan again. It was SO fun! We found some new runs and did them all day. I’m getting a lot better – I was landing and riding away clean on front and backside 180s all day. I fell on a few of them, but since I did gymnastics (and the fact that I’ve got superhuman agility cuz I’m Spiderman) then when I fall I can turn it into a roll or slide or someting. It never hurts anymore… it’s actually really fun. I usually end up on my back, sliding down the hill cracking up, with Britt waiting for and laughing at me. This time we went and it was the best snowboarding conditions we’ve had so far – it was 42 degrees and sunny. Really nice. In the spring we’ll be able to drive up to the mountains with the top down in Brizzy’s Wrangler.
Speaking of nice weather, today it was 62 and beautiful out! For the last few weeks, it’s been pretty chilly, so today when it was warm and sunny EVERYONE was outside chillin’, and I played some frisbee with Molly and Natalie and some guys. Man, it was so nice outside. I almost wish it wasn’t gonna stay this sweet outside because no one is ever going to want to do any homework. Oh well.
Right now I’m sitting in Britt’s room with a bunch of drunk kids… ick. I’m so sick of hanging out with kids who get wasted and yell at each other every weekend. I might try out for some comedic performance thingie next week at the LaMont building. I just need to find a good monologue… maybe I’ll use my ‘make a difference with starfish’ story. Yeah, it sounds weird… maybe I’ll post it one of these days. Well, we’re going to a party. This has been your neighborhood friendly DJ Peety. Go out and have fun.
